Tinley bakery puts icing on Hizzoner's bash
Mayor Richard M. Daley's 67th birthday bash began at Creative Cakes in Tinley Park. The bakery was commissioned to make the cake for the celebration at U.S. Cellular Field April 24.

Beth Fahey, co-owner with her sister Becky Palermo, said the bakery created a full sheet side-by-side cake, half chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and half white cake with raspberry mousse. They also designed a small stadium cake for the Mayor.

The photos show Fran Leon (left) decorating the sheet cake with a cityscape design, and, of course a Sox logo, while Becky Palermo puts the finishing touches on the stadium cake (top, right).
