Once the vows are taken, the meal is eaten and the toasting is done, the sweet end to a wedding day is yet to come. And with endless possibilities, dessert can be the tastiest part of the celebration. With the popularity of television shows such as "Cake Boss," "Ace of Cakes" and "Amazing Wedding Cakes," couples are excited about what their cake will look like. Bold, contrasting colors, odd shapes and unique textures make the wedding cake business challenging but enjoyable, according to Becky Palermo, co-owner of Tinley Park's Creative Cakes.

"I really have fun being surprised myself in the outcome of designs," Palermo says.
